DPS Lake is a triangular gem hidden in the midst of Navi Mumbai Surburbia. Google view was discouraging - roads on two sides and a 50 metre wide green belt split by a drain on the third. The expanded view revealed a possible Birdwatching Path runs between the drain and the lake.
At 7 am the reality on a cool winter morning is very different. The path is covered in dry leaves, with dense vegetation on both sides and makes one forget the drain and Mumbai, lost in the distance is reflected in the lake.
The early morning sun pierced the darkness of the branches only to give way to a hazy day. What mattered was that the birds were a plenty, swimming at the far side of the lake. One could soak in the early morning peace.
